On the whole the weather in Rende (Cosenza) was rubbish - dull every day, with rain at least once a day. This place was a saving grace....For me = shopping heaven!, For Oskar = toy shop, For Nils = nothing;), For us all on the day we arrived....FOOD! Nils went to Finse on 3rd May to attend a Winter School for his PHd studies. After a 7 1/2 hour train journey, he arrived at the highest point on the Oslo-Bergen railway....1222m above sea level!The Hotel at the station! The apple tree nearest our house had a bad winter, causing it to partially collapse. If that wasn't bad enough, I lost my washing line which was also attached to the tree. So, to make the tree safer for Oskar, Nils did some pruning and jacked the tree up, to add some support.This is the end result. The ingredients to make 6 muffin sized buns (cupcakes):100g Margarine100g Caster Sugar100g Flour2 Eggs1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder12g Dried fruit12g Chocolate piecesMix ingredients together one by one..begin with margarine and sugar. One Tuesday teatime, after Anette went home. Oskar and Nils decided to go for a walk. As usual, Nils lets Oskar decide on the route. Our dahlias are in full bloom now. It is sad that as soon as the first frost comes, they will spoil.It might be Autumn now, but my rose is looking better than it has done during the whole of the summer.The second of our two varieties of dahlias. This is a more delicate pink that the previous one.

On Thursday afternoon, we met up with my old friend Louise and her two boys. We all went to the Streetlife Transport Museum in Hull. Oskar was asleep for the first part of the visit, but thrilled with what he saw, when awake. He loved seeing the trams, buses, cycles and cars! A perfect place for a little boy!

Mum and Dad have flown home today, so Oskar and I took them to Torp for their flight to Liverpool.In two weeks time, Oskar and I will be flying to UK, but we'll go from Kristiansand to Manchester via Amsterdam!
